Honestly I felt so comfortable the moment I walked in! The staff is so kind and respectful! They make you delicious fruit breakfast with a hot meal every morning and there tea is so good! I was also impressed that the bathrooms are in the rooms plus they cleaned the room and bathroom everyday!! The birds and jungle feeling in the back area was a perfect hide away from the city noise. I chose this hostel after reading the reviews, and they were spot on. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming and felt like home. Location is in a quiet neighborhood but close walking distance to restaurants, cafes, stores, bus stops and also the central city. And, of course, the breakfast was both filling and delicious. Kitchen had everything one would need and the staff was helpful in every way possible while giving the guests their space. Would recommend 10/10 for solo travelers or groups alike.
I stayed in the private room which was amazing. It had a huge bed, private bathroom, and balcony. The staff and breakfast were awesome! A few concerns included lack of comm when I booked a shuttle - it wasn't until I was out the airport and had sent all my info that they called to tell me it's been canceled, cold shower water and you have to be buzzed in & out of the building. I had scheduled an activity early one morning and had to ring the bell a few times to have someone open the door for me.
Very quiet, peaceful atmosphere & a nice modern look to the building and lounge areas. Beds had a bit of privacy with curtains on each bed & were actually kind of comfy! Staff was super helpful! They made a delicious vegan breakfast for me & helped call a taxi for me to the airport. The few negatives was that my roommates were quite noisy ruffling through their things for a long time around 11pm and again at 5am the next day, two people were having a conversation in the room at 6am, the shower did not have
Our stay at EcoStay was great! David was super helpful with getting us setup with sim cards for our phones. The beds are very comfortable and the hostel is secure.
The neighborhood is quiet. The hostel is a 10-15 walk to the national museum with the Mercado Centro a further10 minutes. Lots of food options nearby.
The breakfast was simple but very tasty! Our morning coffee was great!
The only negative was hot water in the showers was only available when using lower water pressure.
